Two players stand face to face. One is an attacker and the other a goalkeeper standing in front of a goal (you can use cones to create a goal).
Player 1 tries to score a goal by using their racket to hit a foam ball above their head. Player 2 uses their racket to try and stop the ball going into the net.
The players swap over after five shots.
Note: Player 1 can throw the ball if they wish.
Same rules as Drill 1 but with two goals.
This allows for players to vary their shots, with Player 1 having to position the head of their racket differently to hit the target.
Variation: The two players each defend two goals, thus making them work on their positioning, balance and defence.
BALL TAG:
Players form teams and try to hit their opponents with the ball, which they strike above their heads. Opposing players try to dodge the balls.
This drill develops accuracy, movement and cardio fitness.
These educational drills will encourage young players to keep on playing and teach them the game's basic strokes.
